To help your stay be as pleasant as possible we have compiled a list of helpful hints/tips and our terms and conditions.
BOOKING CONDITIONS
Booking is on a first come first served basis and is only secured by full payment, unless agreed otherwise. This can be done by bank transfer only. Your booking will be confirmed on receipt of an email from splashfarmbookings@outlook.com once payment cleared into our account.
Minimum 2-night stay.
Maximum of 4 guests.
Extra £20 will be charge as Pet cleaning fee per booking.
Arrival and checking out are within stated times:
Check in time is 3pm – 8pm and check out time is 10am, unless otherwise agreed.
CANCELLATIONS Full refund for cancellations within 48 hours of booking if the check in date is at last 14 days away. 50 % refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check in.
CANCELLATION BY US In the rare case that we must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, or events outside of our control, then our liability is limited to repaying you the money that you have already paid.
UNDER 18s Must be accompanied by an adult.
CHILDREN Young children must be accompanied by an adult if sleeping in the huts by themselves. We have a highchair, nappy bin and travel cot available as required.

Please read the important information below.
We very much want guests to have an enjoyable and safe stay in our Splash Farm Shepherds Huts. Accidents can happen at any time, to the most careful of people, but there is an added risk when one is in unfamiliar surroundings. For your safety and information, we have tried to identify possible sources of ‘danger’ and advise how to avoid these and minimise risks. To help your stay be as pleasant as possible we have compiled a list of helpful hints/tips and our terms and conditions.
GUESTS
We have identified two groups for whom the huts need an adult supervision: children and infants, and any adult with mobility problems, unable to cope confidently and safely with steps. The steps could be slippery in rain, so extra care should be taken.
Note: Guests must take every care to ensure the safety of any visiting child/infant or less mobile adult.
FIRE Please familiarise yourself with the detailed instructions for use of the Fire equipment provided, and fire escape procedures. The Fire equipment provided is a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. We do ask guests to be extremely sensible and aware of the special dangers posed by fire, and the risk to personal injury.
Never leave cooking on the hob, unattended
Please ensure all electrical appliances & lights are switched off, before going to bed
Never leave an electrical appliance, unattended, such as the toaster, hairdryer
Please be aware of the dangers of a naked flame (candle) at all times, never leave unattended
Splash Farm has a NO SMOKING policy within its property and patio garden.
NO instant BBQ’s, candles, tea lights, fireworks, or party string in or near the hut.
Smoke Detector are fitted in both huts; A torch is provided.
FLOODING Internally, please do not leave any tap running, as there are potential serious consequences. Please do not leave the shower, basin or kitchen sink taps running, unattended.
STORMY WEATHER In case of severe weather and the unlikelihood of flooding during opening months, please remain in the huts we will obviously come and assist and if required, we will endeavour to provide alternative arrangements until storm has passed.
FIRE PIT Please be careful when using the fire pit. Tongs, gloves, wood, matches, and firelighters are provided. If you run out, we will charge for more wood.
A sand bucket is by the hut in case of an emergency relating to the fire pit.
There is a fire extinguisher and fire blanket in the shepherd’s hut. Please familiarise yourself with how to use it (which we hope won’t be needed).
We would also appreciate your help keeping the hut clean and safe by following these instructions:
DOGS You can bring one well behaved small/medium dog to stay with you in the Shepherds Hut at an additional cost of £20 per 2-night stay. Please keep them OFF the beds and furniture. NO dogs to be left in attended in the huts. Please clean up any dog mess before leaving. Please remember we are a working farm and if cattle in the field beside the huts make sure any dogs DO NOT upset them or enter the field.
BINS We would appreciate it if you would recycle what you are able by placing items in the bin in the wooden shed.
SURFACES Please use mats/boards provided to avoid staining/marking the oak surfaces. The table can be placed for eating purposes.
MUDDY BOOTS Please leave muddy shoes/wellies/boots in the wooden shed between the huts.
PARKING Please only park in the designated visitor parking area to the left of the main driveway, space for one car is provided. For extra vehicle please get prior agreement and information as to where to park.
PATH Please be careful as the path from parking space can be slippery after rain, please walk on the grass.
ACCESS BRIDGE Please be careful when crossing the bridge and make sure children are always supervised.
STREAM We have a chalk stream running beside the hut site which you must cross via a bridge. Please make sure especially children are always supervised and don’t access the stream.
GAZEBO/GUIDE ROPES Please take care of the guide ropes of the gazebo when walking around the site.
GARDEN SEATING Please do not attempt to move any garden furniture as is extremely heavy and could cause injury.
GARDEN SHED Please place dirty or wet items in this area and storage for unwanted bags etc during your stay.
ELECTRIC FENCING The single strand of wire beyond the wooden fence rails around the paddock where the huts are situated is electric and there to prevent the cattle damaging our fence. We endeavour not to have it turned on when guests ae staying but please make sure children are aware of the dangers and do not touch.
FIRST AID A kit is in the cupboard within hut below sink.
HUT STEPS Please be aware in wet weather the steps will become slippery. Please use the handrails provided and sensible shoes.
FARM ANIMALS We are a working farm and may have livestock in the adjacent field. Please do not feed them or go into the fields. Please close all gates behind you.
We welcome families and children to watch the milking and see the calves. BUT please make sure all small children at always supervised, dressed appropriately, and wear the high vis jackets provided. PLEASE wash hands after being in contact with any animals and visits to the dairy unit.
FARMYARD Tractors and machinery move around our farmyard. Please be careful when parking and leaving for any other vehicles, please drive carefully.
BBQ We provide a gas Weber BBQ on site for your use charged at an extra £5.for use of gas.
NOISE We respectfully request that guests show due consideration to our neighbours keeping noise to a minimum after 22.30. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honouring this agreement or causing a disturbance/ nuisance to neighbours or the owners.
We reserve the right to cancel without reimbursement if you or your party do not follow our safety guidelines.
SMOKING AND USE OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS Smoking and use of tobacco products, e-liquids and vapes is not permitted within the huts. Please dispose of tobacco and vaping products in outside bins.
WI FI The internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to the world wide web, email, messaging, social media, light video/music/media streaming. Any use of our network for illegal activity is prohibited and will be reported to local authorities.
DAMAGE We appreciate that accident damage happens so please let us know as soon as possible if there is a problem. If the damage is major, we will ask you for the cost of repair/replacement. We will charge £5.00 to replace any lost keys.
SAFETY You may not use instant BBQ’s. A BBQ is provided on site. Please do not se fireworks or Chinese lanterns or any other flammable products near the huts and please respect our livestock.
LOST PROPERTYAny post property if discovered and found left behind by guests during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with their owners, we accept no responsibility in relacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belongings before checking out. We may offer to post lost items via recorded delivery at the cost of the guest, otherwise collection can be arranged.
PERSONAL DETAILS We are required to keep a register of guests over the age of 16 years who stay with us, this includes full names and nationality, and/or passport numbers, place of issue, details of next destination if they are non- British, Irish or commonwealth guests. This is accordance with the (immigration (Hotel records) Order1972). These records are kept for minimum of 12 months and in accordance with DPA. (Data Protections Act1998) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
